Mondo

Though about a little boy, this beautifully photographed bit of fluff from Tony Gatlif ( LATCHO DROM) is entirely too slow-moving for kids. Its charms are most likely to be appreciated by patient adults with long attention spans and a high tolerance for saccharine. Mondo (Ovidiu Balan), as his name suggests, is a child of the world, a homeless street urchin who one day appears on the boulevards of Nice. He lives on the streets, befriends a few impossibly kind shopkeepers and lovable street people like himself, and dreams of having a home and family of his own.
