A good cast is wasted in this depressing picture. Kennedy and wife Page move their family (including a dead son exhumed and reburied) to Puerto Rico, where Kennedy has taken a job. The subtle tensions in the family are exposed when Page gives away her daughter's doll to a disaster relief
organization. The girl learns what her mother has done and throws a tantrum, and Page tries to recover the toy. In the face of the poverty they are exposed to, the family gradually disintegrates. Argentine director Torre-Nilsson tried to break into the Hollywood mainstream with this movie.
