Heartwarming story has de Wilde as a 15-year-old runaway orphan out to make it on his own as a farmer. His determination has a strong effect upon the entire rural community. Merrill is the newspaper editor who takes him under his wing, with Marvin acting as the boy's nemesis, treating de Wilde with a gruffness that will help prepare him for the battles he will have to face. Young de Wilde gives a realistic portrayal, with Marvin and Merrill fitting their roles to a tee. leave a comment
