In the American South of 1964 a troupe of actors, some black, some white, travel in a bus from town to town performing a play about voter registration. They meet opposition everywhere, and gradually the group disintegrates, the blacks going their way, and the whites theirs. Simplistic and
badly acted, the film barely made a ripple when released. Funding from the American Film Institute helped get this waste of a film to the screen.
