Hearne, a meek, neat author of wild adventure novels for girls, is accosted by Rutherford, an eccentric devotee. Rutherford involves Hearne in a scheme to steal a whiskey formula from the distillers who stole it from her ancestors long ago. Once they have the recipe, they are offered
partnerships in the distillery and--thanks to Rutherford's assault on the publisher with a swarm of schoolgirls--Hearne gets to keep writing novels for his fans. A very bad comedy, right in the middle of a period when nearby Ealing Studios were making some of the best comedies ever done. Group 3
