Versatile British comedian Harker (cop or crook, it never mattered) does his bit here as a millionaire with an unruly son, onetime boy clown Hearne. Passing himself off as a composer, Hearne tries to impress his father, thus getting back in his good graces and ensuring an inheritance.
However, Harker's business rival, Pettingell, gets wind of the deception and attempts to use this knowledge to his own advantage. Harker works overtime to keep his son out of jail and his own reputation clean. Laughs are few and far between.
