A tear-jerker about an orphaned newsboy, Beckett, who takes in a crippled young girl, Roberts, when her alcoholic mother is injured. He gets a doctor to examine the girl and finds that her affliction is a mental state caused by her mother's actions. Beckett is arrested for helping the girl, but when Roberts walks, seemingly cured of her affliction, Beckett is released. leave a comment
