Mexican Hayride

Not much more then a typical Abbott and Costello vehicle, the film is filled with jokes and situations similar to those in any of their other films. Abbott heads a gang of stock swindlers and makes Costello its fall guy. When things become too hot they go south of the border and start a fake mining outfit with Costello again the patsy. The threadbare story allows Costello to perform increasingly worn antics. The best sequence is when Costello steps into the bullring and subdues the bull with his clowning. Luba Malina delivers one mediocre song, "Is It Yes, Or Is It No?" (Scharf, Jack Brooks).
