Men Of The Sea

Good adventure movie has Green as a youth in the late 18th century who enlists in the British navy and becomes involved in a number of exciting exploits, including rescuing Lockwood from pirates, capturing an enemy frigate, and locating a lost treasure. Filmed in 1935, it was Carol Reed's first solo feature (he had previously codirected IT HAPPENED IN PARIS with Robert Wyler), and it gives some indication of the classic work he would later turn out, including THE THIRD MAN (1949) and OUTCAST OF THE ISLANDS (1951).
