St. Polis plays a murderous Viennese composer who kills his adulterous wife and her lover. He packs his bags and, with his young daughter, flees for the States. Eighteen years pass and the composer is earning his living as a Broadway restaurant musician. His daughter (Day) also has an interest in music and lands a job as an arranger with a jazz combo.
