A blaxploitation film that attempts to treat the characters with intelligence, but fails because of a weak script. Lockhart, a hip, narcissistic deejay, plots revenge after his girl friend, McGee, is brutally murdered in his apartment. With the help of Cash, Lockhart tries to learn why McGee was killed and who was behind it. He discovers a tape recording that ties mobster Stevens to the assassination of a union leader. McGee possessed the tape and paid for it with her life. ... read more leave a comment

Aras Baskauskas walked away with the million-dollar prize on CBS' Survivor: Panama — Exile Island, but he faced some fierce competition as the field narrowed to the final four. Baskauskas faced off against consummate strategist Danielle DiLorenzo, who earned her spot in the final two after competing against Cirie Fields in a tie-breaker challenge. Cirie and fellow fan favorite Terry Deitz ultimately placed fourth and third, respectively, and while they didn't take home the ultimate prize, both will now be cruising around town in a brand-new GMC Yukon. An airline pilot, Deitz provided Baskauskas with the friendly rivalry that Survivor is known for, while Fields, a registered nurse living in South read more

Survivor: Panama — Exile IslandAs we head into March Madness and lose Survivor for two weeks, it's time for a little "unseen footage" or what some might call "filler." Since it wasn't even a real episode, I figured we'd see the real show open with all of the contestants, but no such luck. The repeated viewing of Tina crying over her son was just as sad as the first time, and the clips from different episodes truly show how crazy Shane has been. But the new footage was the real reason to tune in. It was hardly surprising that most of the unaired material came out of the fractured and loony Casaya tribe. In fact, once the show got to the point where two tribes were formed, there was only one scene from La Mina — all the rest w read more

Survivor: Panama — Exile Island Well, the idea of four separate tribes certainly didn't last long. I know it was just dumb luck that they happened to get the new team buffs, but it seems like Terry and Danielle will make it very far this season. Can't believe that Bruce was left stranded at the "schoolyard pick." Obviously, he hasn't demonstrated his ability to kick through a tree trunk for these people, otherwise he'd have been snapped right up. I laughed when Courtney chose Aras — their cosmic connection was clear last week. Flyboy Terry has marked Sally for death after her "Spear? Oops, what spear?" mishap. Nice knowing you, Sally! Poor Misty was literally covered with bites, so Jeff Probst was definitely not lying about the pesky fire ants on Exile Island. Speaking of pesky, Shane was working my las read more

Survivor: Panama — Exile Island The tribe splits were interesting, and I already love Cirie — she really hated being tossed in the "old" group! But Jeff Probst told a lie right off the bat, touting Exile Island as having "a twist like never before." Sorry Jeff, does the name Janu ring a bell? Poor Misty, she should have just let Danielle take the fall for losing that reward challenge. Those skulls they smashed need to be patented as a stress-relief desk toy. Great, I think I just gave Mark Burnett an idea to make even more money. I did think Misty's strategy of lying about the idol would have worked, had the young women not kicked serious butt in that immunity challenge. And even though the Casaya tribe of older women lost, I think the younger-men's tribe is in the most trouble. Playing baseball instead of buildin read more
