Not a great effort on the part of anyone involved, ME AND MY GAL is a wisecracking attempt at comedy that falls like a two-day-old souffle. Tracy is a young policeman who patrols the Manhattan waterfront; Bennett is a cynical waitress at a local hash house. Burns is Bennett's sister and a much more naive type as proven by the fact that she falls hard for Walsh, a no-goodnik gangster of the lowest level. Burns is fascinated by Walsh and has been totally taken in by his snakelike charm, but Tracy sees through the malfeasant and nabs the crook, just before he is about to commit the greatest crime of all--capturing Burns' heart.
