Roger Daltrey plays the convict McVicar, who escapes prison, pulls a few jobs, and is rearrested in this intriguing crime drama. Based on an autobiography by John McVicar (who also wrote the script), the film shows the British underworld in a way not often seen on film. Daltrey, former singer with the rock group The Who, does a competent if uninspired job in the lead; Cheryl Campbell and former British teen idol Adam Faith manage to give their characters more energetic life. Daltrey sings the soundtrack, including "Free Me" (which became a hit single), "Just a Dream Away," "Waiting for a Friend," "Without Your Love," "McVicar," "White City Lights," and "I'm Not Going Home." leave a comment
