Similar to many early 1930s college football programmers, this dumb but cute comedy directed by William Wellman focuses on the attempts of a college president's daughter (Joan Bennett) to improve the fortunes of Upton College's pathetic football team through a bit of inspired recruiting,
doffing her glasses and batting her pretty eyelashes at All-Americans in an attempt to lure them from their alma maters. James Hall essays the role of her real love interest--a bad boy turned good--and Joe E. Brown uses his famous "big mouth" to protest his ouster from the lineup. Also included in
the cast are members of the 1929 All-American team.
