Question: Hey! Any scoop on the Emmy semifinalists?
Answer: Awards-show junkie Tom O'Neil listed what may be the top 10 comedy-series finalists and eight of the 10 drama finalists in his Gold Derby blog. He also posted what could be the top 15 candidates in the comedy acting slots. If accurate, it means Lauren Graham cleared the first hurdle. I swear, if LG doesn't score a nod this year I'm going to seriously consider quitting the biz and opening a Tasti D Lite shop. We'll find out next Thursday when nominations are announced.

Question: Some CSI forums are saying you're completely full of it because you said you were 99 percent sure there would be no Grissom-Sara stuff in the season finale. But there are spoilers floating around that say there will be. What's really going on? Your reputation is on the line here!
Answer: I've read those spoilers, too, and all I can say is thank god I didn't say I was 100 percent certain. Here's the deal: My trusty CSI mole — who has never steered me wrong before — told me two weeks ago that there would be no Sara-Grissom action in the May 18 finale. But last week, while I was interviewing fellow Sexiest Vegetarian nominee Jorja Fox, she hinted that something may in fact be happening. "I can't give anything away, but we have a cliff-hanger at the end of this season that I think you guys are going to have a field day with," she teased. "All I can say is it's going to be g

Question: When you said in last week's Ask Ausiello that we'll meet someone from Gibbs' past who you're "fairly certain we never knew existed," were you referring to his daughter? If so, she was hinted at in a previous episode.
Answer: That's why I qualified it with "fairly certain." In case you haven't figured it out, I'm not a regular NCIS watcher. Speaking of qualifiers, Gibbs may find himself in a near-death situation in the May 23 season finale.

The EvidenceI'll be honest: I might watch one more episode. You never know — the show is on pretty late, there could be nudity or something. If it lasts a few more weeks, the "item" gimmick is going to turn into the "will I watch?" gimmick. This week's items were weak at best. Another white guy with a buzz haircut, some aspirin pasta and that crossword puzzle that didn't even have any blood on it. So what if the bat had brains on it? It's after 10 pm — show us some good stuff already. Some evidence that the show will be worth watching. I'm not caring about the crime in question. Wet boxing gloves just don't do it for me. At least start off by using aspirin's chemical name, acetylsalicylic acid. Sounds cooler, and makes me want to know what it means

Criminal Minds guest star Amber Heard previews CW network's best bet.
Sometimes my job gets spooky. Minutes after I Q&A'd Tara Lipinski (re: an upcoming Malcolm in the Middle), a TV Guide colleague asks if I want to chat up Amber Heard, an ingénue-on-the-rise who plays a big role on tonight's Criminal Minds (9 pm/ET on CBS) but more interestingly got the edgy film role Lipinski just told me she had to pass on. Alpha Dog (in theaters May 12), though, is but one of the many gigs Heard is about to hit you with. In fact, you may be looking at the fledgling CW network's first breakout star. You be the judge.
TVGuide.com: Get this: I just interviewed Tara Lipinski, who opted to pass on a role in Alpha Dog because of the, um, required nudity. That's the gig you wound up with, right?Amber Heard: I definitely think it is. Th

Question: I'm dying for scoop about the two-part, three-hour Grey's Anatomy season finale. Dr. Ausiello, I need some emergency treatment, stat!
Answer: We may meet a new female surgeon who walks like Cristina, talks like Cristina, fights like Cristina and has the same taste in men as Cristina. On the patient front, there may be a huge surgery with something like 11 surgeons involved — one of whom may be the doc who subbed for Bailey while she was on leave.

Question: Any Alias scoop?!
Answer: Sloane's obsession with Rambaldi may cost someone his/her life. (And I, um, may be the best TV scooper on the planet.) And I hear the May 3 and 10 episodes are classic Alias.

As Passions star Galen Gering forewarned TVGuide.com, Sheridan (McKenzie Westmore) did not initially recognize Luis when the heiress found her not-so-dead lover all beaten up in Hawaii. Next week, Sheridan unwraps Luis' bandages in the hospital and gets an eyeful of his handsome (albeit bruised) face at long last! "We definitely had a laugh. It's totally a soap-opera moment," Westmore says. "This reunion is big for the fans because Sheridan and Luis haven't seen each other in seven months."

Question: Could you devote your whole column to just Gilmore Girls spoilers, like you did with Lost a while back?
Answer: What's in it for me? If one scoop gets me a rare Smurf, then a whole column's worth of scoop should net me at least two cases of Snapple delivered to TV Guide's New York headquarters c/o me. You mull that over while I put the finishing touches on my exclusive interview with Amy Sherman-Palladino, which I may decide to run in this Friday's Ausiello Report.

Question: Terence Knox played in a series before Tour of Duty. What was that series? Its like a spy and rescue series. I think the female may been Susan St. James. The theme song was "Looking for a Hero," sung by Bonnie Tyler.Answer: I'm not able to make all the details match, Pandy (the timing, the costar, Tyler's "Holding Out for a Hero," etc.), but it sounds like you may be talking about Rescue 77. And if you aren't, my crack readership will spank me and steer me in the right direction, and I'll update you in a later column.
