Stanwyck plays a Southern gal who comes west and opens up a hotel/saloon called "The Maverick Queen." Her partners include famed outlaws Brady and Petrie, leaders of the Wild Bunch Gang. Sullivan enters the scene as a supposed outlaw who is actually an undercover Pinkerton detective out to break up and arrest the Wild Bunch.
