In an unlikely role, Bronson plays a peaceful government agent of the late 19th century. He takes his daughter Webster, her fiance Frankham, and munitions expert Hull on a balloon voyage over a mysterious Pennsylvania crater. It has been the cause of several strange eruptions, and Bronson's job is to find out what's been happening. They are shot down and discover that the crater is the secret headquarters of Price. He is a scientist putting the finishing touches on "the Albatross," an enormous flying ship.
