The Mask Of Dimitrios: Review

An edge-of-the-seat thriller all the way, and one of the great noir classics of the 1940s. Peter Lorre plays a mystery writer on vacation in Istanbul whose most ardent Turkish fan also happens to be the head of the secret police (Kurt Katch). He tells Lorre about the body of a murdered man who's washed up on the beach, and when Lorre starts investigating the man's past, he encounters a complex brew of blackmail, seduction, intrigue and assassination.
