Berri is an encyclopedia salesman who gets Wiener, the daughter of a Belgian diamond merchant, pregnant and dutifully agrees to marry her. Before meeting the rest of her family, Berri takes English lessons and falls in love with his tutor, Harrington. After a dreadful weekend with Wiener's family, he proposes to the tutor, who accepts. The salesman breaks the news to Wiener but then discovers that Harrington has changed her mind and has married an airline pilot. Berri marries Wiener and, a few years later, decides he's a happy man. leave a comment
