A group of zany family members, headed by siblings Herbert and Boland, runs a news syndicate. The office is populated with a variety of crazies, including Mowbray as a dubious psychiatrist and O'Connell, the inebriated cartoonist. The main body of the story involves the love affair between Hughes, the niece of Herbert and Boland, and Auer, the paper's looney-tune caption writer.
