Lloyd and Lund are high school students who elope and then have a second ceremony to please their parents. Lloyd drops his dreams of becoming a doctor and takes a job as a mechanic. The couple moves into Lund's parents' home where her father, O'Hara, sets up rules that Lloyd must follow.
Their problems mount when Lloyd unknowingly gets involved in a car theft ring. Both sets of parents finally join together and send the young man to college.
