Regan plays a New York Irish cop with a charming singing voice. He is discovered by producers Cowan and Parker when they hear him sing at the Policeman's Ball. They need a voice for a cartoon feature they are working on, called "Paddy the Pig," and hire him. Regan thinks he is going to be a star, and tells one and all about it. Meanwhile, he and Parker marry, she never revealing to him what she has done. When the premiere comes and all of his police buddies and friends are in the audience, Regan's pride takes a breathless plunge when he sees that his voice was recorded for a pig's and everybody is laughing at him.
