CALL OUT THE MARINES is a dull military comedy concerning a pair of Marine sergeants, McGinnis (Victor McLaglen) and Curtis (Edmund Lowe), stationed in San Diego, who spend most of their time chasing women and competing against each other in order to prove who is the better man. Both fall
in love with a cafe girl (Binnie Barnes) who plays up their rivalry to the hilt--until the boys discover that their lady love is an enemy spy. McLaglen and Lowe previously played a similar military duo named Flagg and Quirt in a series of WW I comedies. CALL OUT THE MARINES marked their
short-lived reunion.
