Dentophobes may might want to sit this one out, but anyone else with a taste for intelligent and truly terrifying thrillers won't want to miss it. Dustin Hoffman is a Columbia University student who is tormented by a sadistic former Nazi (Laurence Olivier) looking for a cache of diamonds. The film is a series of harrowing, nerve-jangling sequences, all of which are child's play compared to the moment Olivier straps Hoffman in his chair, whips out his drill and asks his uncomprehending victim, "Is it safe?"
