Taylor plays a Kentucky frontiersman whose only desire is to find a northwest passage. Parker decides she wants him to marry her and persistently pursues him, despite rebuffs. It even goes so far as a shotgun wedding, with McLaglen, Parker's father, holding the gun on Taylor. Eventually
the knot is tied, and Parker follows Taylor to the Northwest, only to be held up by Indians. Taylor rescues the girl, retiring to his fate. The script is well-balanced, tying comedy in with drama; the cast gives entertaining caricatures of backwoods types.
