Christopher Connelly stars as Prof. George Hacker, a hapless archaeologist who loses his eyesight while on a dig in Egypt, though doctors promise him his condition is temporary. In the meantime, a strange woman gives Hacker's daughter a charm that invests her with telekinetic abilities. Lacking logic, clarity, or anything that remotely resembles intelligence, MANHATTAN BABY is a sad excuse for a horror movie. Director Lucio Fulci's fans will be particularly disappointed to discover that there isn't one disembowelment or maggot-covered face in the entire film. Originally shot in 1982, the film bounced from distributor to distributor before finding its way onto videocassette some four years later. leave a comment
