The Mango Tree

In Queensland during WW I, Pate is a teenage boy whose relation to his environment and the local inhabitants changes as he becomes more aware of his society and his sexuality. The film is crucially marred by the miscasting of Pate (the producer's son) as the lead figure; he just doesn't look like a teenage kid. Otherwise the performances are all top-notch, with good production values.
