1975, Movie, R, 126 mins

In this dreary dramatization of a popular novel Mason is a slave owner with a firm belief in strict master-slave relations. King, playing Mason's son and heir, learns of a new type of existence in master-slave relations through his affair with a pretty slave, and his gambling with her husband. The performances are overdramatized and unbelievable in a script that suffers from the same weaknesses. Heavyweight boxer Ken Norton debuted in this movie as King's favorite fighting slave. leave a comment
