Young surgeon Beal turns his back on his medical career and takes up the life of a hobo. Fontaine, however, gets him back into the ranks of social acceptance when he performs some delicate surgery in an airplane. Fontaine's performance was a nice hint of the things to come, but the rest of
the cast is overshadowed by two notable bit performers, Frye (later Renfield to Bela Lugosi's Dracula) and the lovably hysterical Gilbert.
