In order to contact her late fiance's spirit, Burke uses the spiritual powers of Oscar, a stranger from India who has mysteriously arrived at her household. But she, too, is soon dead, so Oscar accuses Stuart of killing both Burke and the fiance. The angered Stuart pushes his accuser out of a window, killing him.
