When a nightclub burns to the ground, Patterson is assigned by an insurance company to find the cause. Initially the detective suspects le Mesurier, the club's owner, of torching the place. But Patterson meets le Mesurier's niece Anderson, who helps the investigator uncover a mob protection scheme that was reponsible for the fire. With the help of the police, Patterson is able to break up the ring in this so-so crime story. Despite some fast pacing in the direction, the script is too simplistic for the fare. leave a comment
