Man Of Iron

Andrzej Wajda's sequel to MAN OF MARBLE uses the same scriptwriter and leading players and again traces its story through interviews. This film is a realistic portrayal of Gdansk from the student reform movement of 1968 to the Solidarity strikes in 1980. Strike leader Tomczyk (Jerzy Radziwilowicz) is harassed by the government and by a journalist (Marian Opania). The latter conducts a smear campaign against the young labor activist, but his own loyalties are tested during the strike.
