The Man In The Net

Far below par for the talents involved (Curtiz and Ladd), this crime mystery has painter Ladd trying to resolve his differences with Jones, his mentally disturbed, alcoholic wife. She wants to leave their cozy New England quarters and return to New York, where she thinks Ladd should work as an advertising artist. He prefers to sit outside and capture the liveliness of neighborhood children on his canvas. After visiting a psychiatrist friend in New York, he returns home to find his house ransacked, his paintings slashed, and Jones missing.
