Lupino heads west to Long Beach, Calif., where she gets a job in Alda's nightclub as a singer. She gets involved with Alda, a tough mug with mob ties, but eventually snubs him and peddles her affections to piano player Bennett. Some nice atmosphere which does not fully compensate for a weak
