The Man Who Cried Wolf

1937, Movie, NR, 66 mins

A low-budgeter blessed with a plot similar to the "The Twilight Zone" episode about an old actor (Stone) who habitually confesses to murders he didn't commit. The police think he's a nut case, but he's really been planning a murder for years. When he finally does commit the crime, his son is accused, forcing Stone to beg the police to believe his story. It's all very routine from direction to performance, but the surprise-filled script makes it watchable. leave a comment
