The Man From Cairo

This typical Raft crime story had a chance to impress but the dull direction did it in. Raft is in Algeria where someone mistakenly thinks he's an American who has been engaged by French Intelligence to help find $100 million in gold that was secreted in the North African desert nine years before, during the war. Raft meets Papas, who he thinks will help, but she is soon killed. The cops, headed by Lenoir, can't arrest Raft, as they have no evidence, but they do keep a sharp eye on him.
