Brent is a bookstore owner who is blackmailed when his clerk, Dors, gets him to embrace her. Reynolds persuades Dors to help him get money from Brent. They send a letter to Brent's invalid wife, which brings about her death. Brent pays the money and then Reynolds kills Dors. Brent is suspected of the murder but is cleared when his secretary, Chapman, traps the killer. Pretty lightweight stuff for Hollywood veterans Brent and Chapman. leave a comment
