Dismissed when originally released, this splashy and very entertaining adaptation of the first half of Oscar Hijuelos's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel is actually an improvement on the book. It's the story of two very different mambo-playing brothers (Armand Assante and Antonio Banderas) who leave their native Cuba to pursue their dreams in the Big Apple of the 1950s.
