Wolf stars as a Pakistani girl who arrives in England in order to marry Wredden, who has been living there for several years. Wredden long ago assimilated to Western ways and soon finds her tiresome. He leaves her for a white woman, assuming that Wolf will return home. Her friends encourage her to stay, which she does. She begins to adopt Western ways herself. She follows the new fashions, has an abortion, becomes involved with an Englishman, and basically enjoys her new-found freedom. Wolf plays the role with a certain charm that makes the film watchable despite its simplistic script.
