This self-indulgent account of a young woman trying to straighten out her life in the midst of confusing social pressures is a good-hearted effort but fails to overcome handicaps in structure, technical factors, and performances. Lipman is the kind girl having an affair with a Marxist dropout but really in love with a business type who is suffering from the same problems as she is. She eventually throws over the Marxist for the other fellow, but not before the audience gets a thorough dosage of how messed up her life really is, fantasy and all. A first feature directorial effort by Spring, Canada's first female producer-director.
