Morishige is a Japanese business executive harmlessly flirting with Aratama, the younger sister of a late friend. His wife, Yamamoto, after meeting with the girl, suspects that her husband is cheating on her. When Morishige claims that he does indeed like Aratama, Yamamoto is convinced of his infidelity and has an affair with Nakadai, a young sculptor.
