Rogers came out of nearly 25 years of retirement--his last real role was in SON OF PALEFACE (1952), but he also had a brief bit in ALIAS JESSE JAMES (1959)--to star in this quiet, understated, but somewhat maudlin western about a hard-working, religious cowboy and his rebellious teenage son O'Brien.
