Mac And Me

A rather obvious reworking of E.T. in which Eric Cruise (Jade Calegory), a fatherless and wheelchair-bound boy, helps reunite Mysterious Alien Creature--MAC--with the family he's been separated from. In addition to its lack of originality, MAC AND ME is also blatantly commercial, selling everything from candy to soft drinks to fast-food restaurants--the film includes a "special guest appearance" by Ronald MacDonald. It does however provide an admirable role model in Jade Calegory, a victim of spina bifida and a spokesman for Easter Seals.
