A highly contrived romance with Armendariz playing a tough, crooked police chief who is willing to set prisoner Landry free on condition that Landry give up his beloved Valli so the chief can marry her. Other than the fancy sets, which accurately capture the flavor of 19th-century Spain, there is little here of interest. leave a comment
