Routine romantic melodrama starring Girardot, the bored wife of wealthy Parisian businessman Perier who unwittingly becomes involved in an affair with sleazy garage mechanic Buhr, a fortune hunter. Girardot's husband suspects his brother and business partner, Descrieres, of being his wife's
lover, but the truth is revealed when Descrieres is killed because Buhr sabotaged Perier's car. (The evil mechanic assumed Perier was going to drive it.) Girardot confesses her misdeeds, Buhr is arrested, and the husband and wife try to return to their normal lives.
