Lovers Happy Lovers

Philipe stars as an amorous Frenchman who goes off to London to charm a number of women, finally marrying Hobson. Soon after that, boredom sets in and Philipe pursues Parry. When she spurns his advances, he desperately fakes a suicide attempt to gain her sympathy, but the trick goes awry and he plunges off a balcony to his death. An ironic but sympathetic look at some naive women and a genuine knave, a man who is a failed cynic pursuing women almost as an addiction. To achieve authenticity in background shots, director Clement shot the streets of London with a hidden camera.
