Tony Richardson's spoof of the American funeral industry spices the macabre, bone-dry hilarity of the Evelyn Waugh novel with a dash of added burlesque, courtesy of screenwriters Christopher Isherwood and Terry Southern. Robert Morse stars as a naive Englishman who gets sucked into the bizarro world of Hollywood's Whispering Glades Memorial Park, a lavish cemetery run by the inimitable Jonathan Winters.
