Love

This extremely touching film has a young woman (Torocsik) giving up her own material needs in order to watch over her dying mother-in-law. The old woman, Lilli Darvas, unable to get out of bed, has a hard time distinguishing events out of the past from those of the present, and hardly recognizes the sacrifices that Torocsik has been making for her. The son, Torocsik's husband, has been sentenced to prison for ten years, as a political undesirable; but Torocsik writes letters, presumably from him, telling his mother that he is in America working on a movie and is being treated like a king.
