Love Laughs At Andy Hardy

MGM attempted to cash in again with another chapter in the life of everyone's favorite family, but the appeal in the nine-year saga was beginning to wane. This one has Rooney back from the war and ready to finish his freshman year at college. He develops a walloping crush on Granville who breaks his heart by marrying someone else. Dejected, Rooney decides to go off to South America when Romay, a south of the border cutie, steals his heart. Performances are standard, though Rooney is getting too old to be totally convincing as Andy Hardy. The thin plot is padded with unnecessary humor.
