Love From A Stranger

This unconvincing variation on the story of the infamous mass murderer Bluebeard (aka Henri-Desire Landru) stars John Hodiak in an all-too-obvious portrayal of the killer, here named Manuel Cortez. Having killed a number of previous wives, Cortez chooses as his next victim the young and innocent Cecily Harrington (Sidney) after she wins a hefty London lottery. She falls for his charms, but soon realizes his true nature, turning to her friend Mavia (Richards) and her daffy Auntie Loo-Loo (Elsom) for help, and eventually receiving it from her former suitor (Howard).
